What can I expect?

Two communities with seemingly nothing in common. One unlikely friendship that made history. Experience Pride London – the uplifting new musical based on the much-loved film and the extraordinary true story that inspired it.

Welcome to Britain in 1984. When young activist Mark Ashton brings together a group of lesbian and gay campaigners to support striking miners in South Wales, an unexpected alliance begins to grow. Despite prejudice, opposition and very different backgrounds, the two communities discover friendship, solidarity and the surprising power of standing together.

Funny, moving and bursting with heart, Pride brings the spirit of the acclaimed 2014 film to the stage with an original soundtrack inspired by pop, rock, disco and the rich Welsh choral tradition. Developed and directed by Matthew Warchus, who also directed the original film, with book and lyrics by the film's screenwriter Stephen Beresford, the musical celebrates friendship, courage, kindness and community.

Following record-breaking sold-out runs at Cardiff's Sherman Theatre and London's National Theatre, Pride moves to the Bridge Theatre in London. Get ready to laugh, be moved and leave the theatre uplifted by an extraordinary true story that proves just how much can happen when people put their differences aside and stand together.
