Harlem is known as the cultural capital of Black America. It's among other things known as the home to the Harlem Renaissance, literary, political and cultural giants like Langston Hughes, Madame C.J. Walker, Malcolm X and W.E.B. Dubois.
On this tour you'll hear the stories of the pioneers and visionaries that made Harlem great - from the early Dutch settlers to the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. We also explore the forces that are shaping modern Harlem today, including gentrification.
