Experience the Highlights of Rome
On this tour, you'll see highlights from arguably the most important collection of art in the world, including The Rooms of Raphael, The Sistine Chapel, and The Belvedere Courtyard.
Your English-speaking guide will provide you with a comprehensive overview on all you will see, especially about The Sistine Chapel and the famous painter Michelangelo and make sure you get the most out of your time in Vatican City. Our guides on our Vatican tours are very popular and they get many positive appraisals from our guests.
After leaving The Sistine Chapel, you will be led through the underground level, called the Vatacombs, a rarely seen area of the Vatican where tombs of the former popes are located.
Next you'll head up into St Peter's Basilica, the largest basilica in the world built over what are believed to be the bones of St. Peter. Here you get to enjoy the magnificent view of the dome from the ground. (This tour does not include entrance to the dome. Tickets can be purchased on site).
The tour ends outside the magnificent Basilica where we will hear about the history of the Vatican State, The Swiss Guard, and how St Peter's Square was designed.
The tour is operated in English.

Fantastic 4.65 customer reviews
It is almost impossible to do justice to the Vatican experience in 3 hours. Our guide did a very good job and was informative but she was up against intense crowds. Better crowd management by the Vatican would help.
If nothing else it has stimulated my interest in the Vatican's history. Our guide worked VERY hard and was good.
We met at the smart and well presented tour centre a short distance from the Vatican museums and met our guide 'Toni'. The group was small numbering around 17 people which made movement within and around the vatican easy. With the aid of radio microphone and ear pieces Toni's guidance and knowlege was excellent pointing out a number of details that would have gone un noticed this was essential to the first time visitor.
Thanks again a very good tour and would use your services again on a return trip.
What a fantastic tour, the tour guide was stop on really knew his stuff.
Our guide Toni was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and eager to ensure everyone in the group felt comfortable. A great day. Lots to see, we did the three hour walking tour and then added on the tour up the dome. Well worth the money.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Vatican museums, Vatacombs and St peter's Basilica. Our guide, Antonietta, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about each area and entertained us throughout the tour. Seeing the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's paintings was amazing, however we could have done with a small break (20 mins) in cafe area to relax and cool down as it was extremely hot throughout the tour (cafe just before Sistine Chapel - more time needed for this part of the tour). The sheer size of the Basilica takes your breath away and it is well worth climbing the 320 steps (pay for the lift up to first floor!) to see the view of Rome from the top of the dome. The Vatacombs are not as interesting but worth seeing - visit the Domitila catacombs for another great experience. I would strongly recommend the Vatican tour as there is so much to see. The tour lasts approximately three hours but you can then spend more time in the Basilica and climbing to the top of the dome. A great experience - Many thanks, Kevin and Sue
